Adventure sports has several retail stores and a kiteboarding school located at Matheson Hammock Park. The kite spot is a flat shallow ridding area great for taking lessons.
South Florida is another great kite school. They do do there lessons on a sandbar out in Biscayne Bay. This allows them to conduct lessons in any wind direction.
To kite on Miami Beach you will need to fill out an application to get a permit. The Permit Cost $46 dollars and you need to bring it in person at the Miami Beach Customer Service Center located at 1755 Meridian Avenue, Suite 100. The kite spots are located at 21st and 87th street.
3. St. Petersburg FL Under The Skyway Bridge
St. Petes located on the West side of Florida offers a shallow flat water spot great for learning and taking lessons. Many might consider this their favorite spot to kite in Florida. There are several kite schools here if you’re looking for lessons.
4. Tiger Tail Marco Island FL
Location-430 Hernando Dr, Marco Island, FL 34145
Another spot located on the west side of Florida is Tiger Tail. This spot is great when those cold fronts come in and the wind shifts to the west. With west wind you get the strongest wind in Florida, blowing up to 40 kts. Parking is limited. Be prepared to hike for a bit because the spot is about a mile walk from the parking lot.
5. Jupiter Fl
Finally, we have Jupiter Florida. The kite spot is located at shower marker 33. This spot is more for intermediate to advanced riders because of the deep choppy water. Adventure Sports opened up a kite shop recently nearby and there is also Jupiter Kiteboarding.
